Male Hair Loss
Some women are of the opinion that bald men are sexy. This may make you happy but if you aren’t one to buy that and have found yourself experiencing hair loss, then you might want to determine the underlying causes. Hair loss is a natural phenomenon in our daily life, but definitely not at a striking rate. However, if you find yourself experiencing excessive hair loss you need to take remedial action. Hair loss can be caused by:
- Genetic factors are a common cause for male hair loss. It has been proved that hair loss is hereditary.
- A thyroid dysfunction causes hormonal imbalance in your body, thereby causing hair loss.
- Male hair loss is often stress related and is one of the most common causes.
- Certain medications can cause hair loss. If you take anticoagulants or are undergoing chemotherapy then there are greater chances of hair loss. Vitamin A in excess also induces hair loss.
- Fungal infections lead to hair loss and can easily spread if left untreated.
- Diabetics may find themselves suffering from hair loss.
- Male pattern baldness or alopecia is most common and is caused by sensitivity to the male hormone dihydrotestosterone on the scalp.
- We all turn wise as we grow older. It’s always that you gain some & lose some.
There may be many treatments for male hair loss but the best remedy could be found at home.
- Use a good shampoo. Consult your doctor to determine what would suit your hair best.
- Massage your scalp every time you wash you hair. This increases the blood flow to the hair follicles.
- Change your medication with your doctor’s consent, if this is what is causing hair loss.
- Hormonal imbalances can be treated by your doctor who will prescribe appropriate medicines.
- Treat any infections immediately to prevent further hair loss.
